Its fourteen kilometers allow us to enjoy the water and its use for centuries in the rural environment. From the lower part of Taramundi we take a road that leads us to Mazonovo, where we can visit the Museum of Mills.
Continuing and after a short ascent we can see the Caserío de la Granda, from where we descend to the bottom of the valley, entering a dense native forest of chestnut and alder trees. Here we can choose to approach a waterfall returning to the main road to reach the village of Esquios, where you can visit a collection of tools and tools. In Esquios there are two alternatives: Continue straight on until you reach Veigas, or take a path to the left that crosses the river Turía and accesses Teixois. The Esquios-Veigas path runs through an extensive mass of chestnut trees in some areas mixed with oak and birch trees. Veigas, a fairytale village, is an example of well-preserved architecture, from which and taking the old road along the right side of the river Turía we arrive at Teixois, where there is a unique ethnographic complex (a set of hydraulic devices consisting of a mallet, mill, fulling mill, grinding wheel and small power plant). From Teixois, we take a path parallel to the stream of As Mestas that leads to Esquios, returning to Taramundi by the same way we started the route.
The route begins in the recreational area of Pumares; we cross the road and head parallel to the river to Pumares, a village of old ferreira activity, where we can still see the remains of an old mallet. From here, along a marked path, and leaving the river Agüeira to our left, we continue a slight ascent into a legendary forest characterized by riparian species (alders, ashes, willows, and hazelnut trees) and by oaks and chestnut trees that with their whimsical shapes are true monuments.
The route starts in the square of Sta. Eulalia de Oscos descending to the lower part of the village and continuing along a beautiful path surrounded by native forest that leads us to Ferreirela de Baxo, a place where it is worth stopping and visiting the Museo Casa Natal del Marqués de Sargadelos.
The route starts in the town of A Espía (Vegadeo) and is accessed through the AS-11 road that connects Vegadeo with Los Oscos.
We start the walk in the old station of San Tirso de Abres, today restored for private housing, finding the first of the six tunnels just 300 m away, continuing next to the river Eo enjoying every moment of great panoramic views of the riverbed, of incalculable ecological and fish value, in which abound a large number of aquatic species, the most characteristic being trout, lamprey and salmon. Later the path crosses the N-640 road and leads us to an old power station built in 1932, located just before crossing another of the tunnels drilled in the rock, which leaves us close to the pedestrian walkway over the river Eo.
Esta ruta comienza en Barcia (Asturias) donde disponemos de un aparcamiento público para dejar nuestro coche a escasos metros del inicio.
