In 1963 Mr. José Martínez Díaz, of unforgettable memory, laid the foundations of the company “Restaurante Peña Mar”.

In his small and cozy place you could taste the homemade food of his wife Mercedes Vinjoy, an excellent cook. The tenacity of his son, Marcelino Martínez Vinjoy, accredited the name and nowadays he and his wife run the hotel complex “Peña Mar”. This tourist facility, formed by Peña Mar Restaurant, Peña Mar Hotel, Risón Seafood Restaurant and Peña Mar Tourist Apartments, is located in the Noble Villa of Castropol, in the middle of the “Camino de Santiago”. It is an incomparable setting where you can admire from the countryside and mountains, to the placidity of the Asturian inlet of the Eo estuary.

In short, the hotel complex “Peña Mar”, is located in a privileged place in western Asturias, because with minimal displacements, it is possible to visit Celtic forts, classical and modern architecture, highlighting the bridge of the Saints, true yoke of brotherhood between Asturias and Galicia.
