Traditional and cozy stone house with good views of the surrounding natural environment and balcony with the morning sun, in a remote valley of western Asturias next to a clean river. One hour from the coast and beaches and two hours from Oviedo. In the surroundings there is a great variety of hiking and biking trails . This area has a special microclimate. It is located in a mountainous area but only 200m above sea level, very protected from the north and with good exposure to the south.

The space

This is our home during the coldest months of the year. We offer it during the summer to guests so that they can enjoy this unique place. Before booking, it is important that you read the following points:
-The cottage is off-grid and can only be accessed on foot, parking is 500 meters away
– Forest track: the last 4km are unpaved, the concrete slopes ensure that you can get there with any car, you have to drive slowly and calmly arrive … (Up to here comes the post and parcel service, so it should not be a problem)
– Our cottage has a battery that gives for lights and to listen to the radio. There is a 12 volt recharge point for cell phones. In some moments there is the possibility of having access to 220v (at the moment it comes from a generator and the current is not as stable as the normal network so it is better not to connect sensitive devices)…

– The house can sleep up to 4 people, ideal for families (extra bed possible)
– On the second floor there is a double bed and a room with a bunk bed (ideal for children), a balcony and a bathroom with sink, bathtub (hot water comes from a gas heater or from the sun) and a dry toilet.
On the main floor is the eat-in kitchen with a butane gas stove and a wood stove that is not turned on in summer. With utensils necessary to cook and eat comfortably, in case of need you can turn on a fridge with butane freezer.
The water is untreated; it is good for cooking, washing dishes and clothes, washing up, it is drinkable, but to drink we recommend spring water, we have glass carafes for storage.

Services and common areas

The house is located in an isolated village, with no neighbors other than us hosts. There is plenty of space although there are areas that we reserve for our family life.
We live on the farm with donkeys, sheep, bees, chickens, rabbits, cats and dogs. The sheep, donkeys, chickens, cats and dogs roam free in a large area, so there is no need to be surprised if you encounter any animals or their droppings, they are very calm. The animals help us to keep the environment clean, provide manure for the garden, eggs, protect us from foxes and wolves…
The only fenced areas are next to the house (facing south and east) and our vegetable garden where we grow vegetables.
We can sell seasonal vegetables or exchange them for your help in the garden.
