
The Oscos-Eo region is formed by the councils of San Martín, Santa Eulalia and Villanueva, which are part of the Biosphere Reserve Río Eo, Oscos and Terras de Burón.
It stands out for its architecture with stone and slate, typical of the area, rich and varied flora, oak forests, chestnut trees, birch trees, pine forests…
Casa Aniceto opened its doors to rural tourism in 1991, being the fourth house in Asturias dedicated to this sector.
Casa Gonzaiz” is a farmhouse dating from the early nineteenth century, where there was also a workshop of craftsmen “galocheiros” for the manufacture of wooden “madreñas”.
The building that houses the Hotel Casa Soto is built according to the models of the typical architecture of western Asturias: stone masonry walls and slate slabs for the roof, painted facade, and interiors, formed by exposed stone and chestnut wood beams and ceilings. Built around the 19th century, it maintains the original structure and gives a traditional and rustic halo, preserving the canons of popular construction of the region.
In 1963 Mr. José Martínez Díaz, of unforgettable memory, laid the foundations of the company “Restaurante Peña Mar”.
